We deliver all furniture and larger items within Sydney metropolitan area. If you require a delivery quote outside of these areas, please contact us for further information.

We currently offer Free Pick Up from our shops for Homewares items.

FURNITURE

Living Design Furniture uses Contract Carriers for all deliveries within Sydney metropolitan area.

Delivery Times

If items are in-stock, delivery within Sydney Metropolitan will occur within 1-2 weeks of purchase.

All deliveries are arranged by the Warehouse only. We cannot confirm a delivery schedule for furniture online and store Sales consultants are not able to promise or arrange deliveries. Living Design Furniture Contract Carrier delivers all over Sydney and delivery runs need to be coordinated into areas for each day. We will ring you at least one day prior, to arrange a specific delivery date but at that stage we cannot advise a delivery time frame.

On the morning of your delivery, once the truck is loaded, you will be contacted & advised of an approximate 3 hour delivery time frame, i.e. between 1.00pm and 4.00pm. This is approximate only as unforeseen issues may cause delays.

You must be at the nominated delivery location to accept the delivery – the contract carrier cannot wait for you to arrive. Customers who are not at home to accept the delivery will incur a second delivery fee.  This also applies to all deliveries that are cancelled on the agreed delivery day.

Paying for Deliveries

All orders must be paid for in full before deliveries. In-store orders must be paid in full prior to delivery. Sales Order balances can be paid over-the-phone by credit card, in-store at our Auburn or Prospect showrooms or by direct deposit (please note that direct deposits require 2 working days to clear). The Contract Carriers cannot unload any goods that have not been paid in full. 

Delivery Service

The Contract Carriers do not unpack, remove packaging, assemble new items or remove old furniture (unless these services have been specifically stated on your order).  Disposal of all packaging materials are the customer's responsibility and will be left at the premises (delivery address). If you require additional services of assembly or package removal, you will need to inform the sales team prior to delivery of the purchase order as an additional fee will be quoted to carry out these services if available for your address. This must be paid in advance to be booked and cannot be accepted as CASH to the drivers or requested on the day of delivery. 

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the goods can be delivered into the premises and into the required room. This includes ensuring your doorways are wide enough to fit the product in, the item can fit upstairs or in a lift (if required) and that there is nothing blocking the path of the delivery in hallways, stairwells or driveways.

Deliveries where there is difficult access, multi-level stair access (more than 2 flights of stairs) or deliveries where the truck has to be parked away from the delivery site will incur an additional charge to be nominated by the Contract Carrier.

Assembly

Assembly is not included with a standard delivery, unless specifically stated otherwise on your order. Where assembly is included, goods will be assembled by the Contract Carrier on premises, at the time of delivery.

All packing and wrapping materials are your responsibility and will be left at the premises. The assembly contractor will not remove old furniture under any circumstances.

For all items that require self assembly, assembly can be arranged prior to delivery, with the following applicable charges:

Key Delivery Terms & Conditions:

The standard delivery service allows 15 minutes for delivery to a ground floor location. For deliveries that require other requirements an additional fee may apply.

  1. Please note that the following services are not included in a standard delivery charge:
    1. Unpacking wrapped furniture.  (This includes timber, cardboard, bubble wrap, fibre bags and plastic.)
    2. Removal of packing materials or crating.
    3. Exact in home location, including levelling, adjusting or cleaning of any furniture.
  2. Goods will only be delivered after full payment was made prior to the delivery date.
  3. We will deliver into the house or unit provided it is within 30 metres of the nearest available truck parking point.  We will not deliver goods through another person’s property or over balconies.
  4. We will deliver to units on higher floors, as long as the goods can be transported in a suitable lift.
  5. Customers are totally responsible for ensuring that ordered goods can be properly received into the required delivery location and that they will fit through all openings for the goods to be delivered.  If, in the professional opinion of the delivery sub-contractor, the delivery cannot be undertaken without potential damage to the goods or property because of restricted openings or limited access, the subcontractor cannot complete the delivery.  Under these circumstances the customer can:
    1. Elect to have the goods delivered to another location.
    2. Fill out a rejected delivery form and have the goods returned to the store.
  6. To assist you with arranging receipt of your delivery we will phone you in advance to arrange a day for delivery.  At that time we cannot specify the time of the delivery however on the morning of the delivery we will ring you to advise an approximate 3-hour time frame for the delivery.
  7. Where the Company confirms a delivery day and the customer fails to be available or cannot accept the goods because of inadequate access or fails to pay according to the agreed terms of payment, a second charge will apply for a second delivery of the order.  The minimum charge for a second delivery is $80.

Our delivery service does not include the movement of any other furniture. 

Please note that some delivery locations have special requirements and the company requests that these conditions are nominated prior to delivery. They include:

  • More than two flights of stairs.
  • High rise buildings with small lifts.
  • Long distance from the truck “lift off” point.
  • Stairs too narrow to move normal furniture.
  • Unusual delivery, like ship or barge.
  • Delivery where cranes or block and tackle are required (eg. delivery over a balcony.)
  • Special times for “clearway” requirements.
  • Narrow or steep drives or “battle axe blocks”.

Where customers are renovating driveways or paths, and if the weather is wet, then protective covers to the walk areas inside the house must be provided. (Please note the delivery people are not allowed to take off their boots because of “Work Cover” safety regulations).
